Back in Black

After several changes to my blog, I've decided to go back to the original look. I'm sure I'll get bored in a couple months and change it again but for now my blog is "Back in Black".

3 observations...

#1 - Are you Jesus? Your picture sure looks like it.

#2 - version 5.0 is clever

#3 - In true not-to-be-outdone fashion, you have arrived both late and early with your countdown timer. Later than me, and premature for American football season. Long live the World Cup...the real football.

Football is defined as

A game played by two teams of 11 players each on a rectangular, 100-yard-long field with goal lines and goal posts at either end, the object being to gain possession of the ball and advance it in running or passing plays across the opponent's goal line or kick it through the air between the opponent's goal posts.

Soccer is defined as

A game played on a rectangular field with net goals at either end in which two teams of 11 players each try to drive a ball into the other's goal by kicking, heading, or using any part of the body except the arms and hands. The goalie is the only player who may touch or move the ball with the arms or hands.

Last time I checked the game played in the world cup is what we here in the United States of America call Soccer. I quite frankly do not care if the rest of the world calls soccer football because I am a citizen of the United Sates of America and we call it soccer.

Since you currently reside in the United States and the comments you posted were posted from a computer in the United States, your statement that the World Cup is "the real football" is an incorrect statement. As I stated earlier the sport played in the world cup is defined as soccer therefore it cannot be considered "the real football". The sport defined as football above is "the real football".

Now if you were residing in say the UK then your statement would be a correct statement. However since you reside in the United Sates your statement is incorrect.

If you still insist on calling soccer football, I'm going to have to ask that cease using American English altogether and speak only British English and please do so with a British accent. If this is what you really want to do here's a website to get you started http://esl.about.com/library/weekly/aa110698.htm
